Up and Running - It's a Start!
The most important writing of our lives will soon take place - the story of the journey to our son - a little boy with dwarfism in an Eastern European orphanage. Can you believe it?! Our son . . . a child . . . we're going to be a mom and a dad in a few short months. I'm somewhat speechless when I really stop and think about it. Something I've wanted ever since I can remember - to be a mom - is really going to happen. And I get to share our amazing story with friends and family all over the world. All I can say is welcome, and as you go on this wild ride with us, be prepared to be amazed, inspired, touched, and saddened - just as we have been since we started this journey.

So great that you are adopting Robert! Congratulations! We are adopting Vlad and we live in West Chicago which is a little over an hour away from Round Lake. Can't wait to follow your journey, and maybe you'll catch a peek of our baby girl while you're there...you'll probably make it to EE before we do. By the way, your blog looks great! Hey! Thanks for the heads up about the out-of-state clearances. I talked to our social worker and she said we don't need them for USCIS but DCFS requires them in the state of Illinois. She called DCFS again to check and spoke with the Intercountry Coordinator. Not trying to freak you out by any means! Just thought I would pass on the info I got today in case it applies to you guys too. Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions! :)
