We Are Here!

We made it to "Robert's" country!!! (we will post our exact whereabouts after the adoption is finalized. And we are still working on his full name - so we will post that as soon as we decide). We didn't know what the heck we were doing, and somehow we missed U.S. Customs (for those of you traveling through O'Hare soon - go to terminal 5 first for Customs, and then to your airline terminal!) but Customs here was a breeze! It was very interesting when we arrived off the plane on our final destination - there was a small bus that took us to our baggage claim terminal, and the whole ENTIRE plane crammed onto this bus (it was more like a van!). No need to worry about hanging on - we could not have fallen over if we had wanted to!
One of our facilitators, Niko, picked us up at the airport (it was so funny to have someone holding up a sign "Clark" - just like in the movies). He is great, and showed us around the area of our apt. After shoving all of our luggage into his hatchback, off we went to the grocery store. Our apartment is small, but cozy and clean. It has a washing machine in the bathroom (yay!), a microwave, and even an iron - and internet! No elevator, so we got our workout for the day. Oh yeah, and only about 5 squares of toilet paper on the roll, so luckily we brought and bought some (can you spare a square!).
I will try to post some apt. photos. Grant is not feeling too well - got dehydrated on the overnight flight :( They don't call them barf bags for nothin'! But I bet he will feel better after sleeping.
Take care everyone. It is almost 9 pm here, so we must get to bed soon and try to get on our new schedule.

  3. A good night's sleep does wonders! Nothing like a trip to that country to make you realize just how much toilet paper you use, too! We'll be there a week from today! (And yes, I packed some TP, too!)
